В то время голландские композиторы достаточно успешно лидировали в различных европейских чартах и хит-парадах. Кто бы мог предположить, что стиль в принципе уже переживший свое останется популярным и по сей день. Особенной популярностью до сих пор пользуются, несомненно, Laserdance и KOTO.
Laserdance сформировался благодаря двум малоизвестным еще тогда людям - композитору - Erik'у van Vliet'у и звукооператору и продюсеру Michiel'у van der Kuy'у. Их совместное творчество началось в 1983 году, когда и был записан их первый альбом-сингл - 12" . Он положил начало серии уникальных произведений в области синтезаторной танцевальной музыки, Следующий альбом группы Laserdance "Humanoid Invsion" позволил группе войти в десятку европейских хит-парадов. Благодаря ошеломительному успеху Laserdance их первая звукозаписывающая компания "Hotsound Records" стала пользоваться огромной популярностью и на ней начали записываться многие молодые композиторы игравшие в том же стиле. Популярность Laserdance позволила группе выпустить более 10 альбомов, 12 синглов, а также 6 сборников и ремиксов.
